Les tiges de forage, qui font partie des OCTG (produits tubulaires pour champs pétrolifères), sont des composants essentiels dans le processus de forage pour l'exploration et l'extraction pétrolières et gazières. Ils servent de conduits pour les fluides de forage, abritent le trépan et fournissent un moyen de transmettre le couple de rotation et la force axiale au trépan. L'application des tiges de forage concerne principalement le forage de trous de forage, notamment les puits de pétrole et de gaz, les puits géothermiques et les puits d'eau.
